Disobedient Bodies

Internationally renowned and award-winning, both in menswear and womenswear, designer J.W Anderson will be bringing the worlds of fashion and art together in a collaborative exhibition named 'Disobedient Bodies' at The Hepworth Wakefield in West Yorkshire, next March.

The 'gender based art show which will connect the dots between modemism and fashion' is set to showcase some of the key designers and artists that have "long inspired" his own creative work.

The different gallery spaces will link the different aspects of the designers creative vision. The first of three rooms is set to showcase the inspirations behind the Autumn Winter 2013 menswear collection. The second will show the works inspired by the desinger, including the work of photographer Jamie Hawkesworth. The final room will display the artwork of the likes of Sarah Lucas, Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth. As well as being "brought into direct dialogue with garments by Rei Kawakubo, Helmut Lang and Issey Miyake."
