Trending: Blotox

You've just stepped out of the hairdressers after having a much needed blow dry and you're feeling yourself. Your hair has gone from drab to fab, and nothing can stop you. You're ready for your big night out and the compliments that you just know are going to come your way.

Why can't everyday be like this?

Well, if your up for injecting your scalp to make your blow dry last longer then this could be a reality.

According to Us Weekly, the latest trend to hit Hollywood is Blotox - botox injected into your scalp to make the blow dry last past its usual sell-by date.

A favourite amongst many, Botox has long been used to get rid of a wrinkle or two for some and used to decrease sweating by injecting into the armpits and feet to reduce excessive levels of sweat.

So how does it work, some might be asking.

Working just the same as injecting into your armpits, by injecting into the scalp and underneath the hair follicles, this prevents any sweat or oils from messing up your luscious locks.

Dermatologist, Dr Michelle Henry says she started giving her clients Blotox treatments after many women said they were reluctant to hit the gym because they didn't want to ruin their blow-dry.

"It makes a huge difference for the working woman who wants to be fit but still look great," she says. "For patients with curly or kinky hair, their hair will remain straight longer."

Interested in hearing more? Well the actual procedure works by preventing communication between the nerve ending and the eccrine gland - which is where sweat comes from. When this signal is disrupted, you don't sweat, meaning you won't get a sweaty head.

But it's not just a simple injection that you'll need. Oh no, you're looking at around 200 injections carefully placed under your hair follicles, but still only taking 20 minutes so it can't be that bad!

At £600 a go, if you're an absolute sweaty betty with a spare few monies and want your hair on fleek all day, everyday then go for it, it just might be worth it. But if that's one hell of a stretch, then we'd say invest in a decent hairdryer and rollers and get that technique down. With Black Friday just round the corner, you're bound to get your hands on one hell of a bargain.

Or just pop down to Boots and get some dry shampoo.
