The Met Gala..

The first Monday in May. The biggest night in fashion, the Super Bowl Sunday for the fashion world as Andre Leon Talley, editor-at-large for Vogue puts it. The night even us spectators live for.

Invitation only with a price of £30,000 a ticket, the Met Gala is serious business. An annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, every year a new theme is curated. This years fashion exhibit, "Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between" was in homage to Rei Kawakubo, the Japanese designer who founded her label, Comme des Garçons in 1969.

Hosted by editor of American Vogue, artistic director of Conde Nast and chairwoman of the gala, Anna Wintour, along with celebrity hosts, Tom Brady, Gisele Bundchen, Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams, this is no ordinary event.

As for the fashion...

There's no way to describe it. Guests really do step up there game. This is the night you can step out of your comfort zone and try something that you never normally would. The bolder, the better. We don't want to be seeing anyone playing it safe.
