All we hear about in today's society is the shape of women and their bodies and the type of bodies they have, for example, hourglass, pears or triangles. One thing we never hear about is men's body shapes.
According to health experts over at Forza Supplements, there are just five different body shapes for the modern-day British man. And how did they come up with these body shapes; by looking at the bodies of some of the most famous men out there.
The modern man can be categorised into five distinct body shapes; the Rectangle, the Oval, the Triangle, the Rhomboid and the Inverted Triangle.
First up is the Rectangle. Straight up, straight down. With a flat torso and not much change in shape when it comes to the hips, this is one of the most common body shapes with four in 10 gentlemen having a rectanglar shape.
The second most common body shape, the Oval, is defined by excess weight that can be found in the upper half of the bod. More than a 25% of men fall into this category - think Boris Johnson, Elton John and James Corden.
A bit like women's 'pear shape', the Triangle is the third most popular body shape. Slightly bigger around the middle, this body shape is shared by 14% of British men.
Moving onto the least popular body shapes, the Rhomboid is somewhat similar to the rectangle, yet the shoulders are more well-built. Athletes tend to fall into this category.
And finally, the rarest of body shapes, the Inverted Triangle. Only 5% of British males share this figure. With broad shoulders and big muscles, the torso tapers down to the waist and has rather small hips in comparison to the top half. Think meat heads at the gym, who skipped leg day one too many times.
