For Oscar De la Renta's latest collection the two new young creative directors, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia, decided to pay homage to the late designer in a very personal way.
"It all started from his signature," Garcia said during the preview. "We just started looking at that and all the people's connection is with the house. We took it in a literal way that was touching and fun."
Notes written from Emma Watson and Elle Fanning were transformed to pritns that offered a romantic element onto shirts, jumpers and coats. As for the rest of the collection, the pair decided to up the sportswear-ante. Faded denim, white shirts, sheer dresses and sporty separates gave off the feeling that the pair are hoping to target a much younger audience than the brand is used too.
A perfect mixture of day wear and evening wear, Kim and Garcia seem to making a fresh impact on the brand, an impact that has had mixed reviews.
