Pantone's SS18 Colour Trend Report

We've not even had AW17 yet and Pantone are already looking ahead to SS18 and the key colours that we're likely to see on the runways this fashion month.

Instead of the typical 10 colours, Pantone's Fashion Color Trend Spring 2018 Report features 12 with 'many unexpected colours' making the list, according to Pantone Color Institute executive director Leatrice Eiseman. Along with their colour trend report, they have also put together the classic colours that we see year on year in their Spring 2018 Classic Colour Palette.

And what might be the colour of the season along with key colours...

Meadowlark 13-0646
Considered the colour of the season, Eiseman calls yellow 'a beacon of light.'

Coconut Milk 11-0608 - Spring 2018 Classic Colour Palette
An off-white white and a mainstay of white, Coconut milk gives that 'really clean feeling'.

Almost Mauve 12-2103
A romantic, gentle colour

Lime Punch 13-0550
"When Lime Punch first came on the scene it was a hard sell. A lot of people might have worn it for accents, but now the consumer acceptance factor is way higher than it has ever been for this shade."

Pink Lavender 14-3207
A violet rose hue

 Harbor Mist 14-4202
A foggy gray - "In spring and summer, black can get a little heavy. There's not anything you can't do with a light neutral gray."

Warm Sand 15-12-14
Like gray, sandy neutrals are perfect for spring summer

 Blooming Dahila 15-1520
Very light and soft orangey hue

Little Boy Blue 4132
Boys, girls, women and men - this shade works for everyone

Arcadia 16-5533
"This colour does well in very simple designs. It has two sides of personality."

Cherry Tomato 17-1563
"Very strong, heated dynamic colour."

Spring Crocus 17-3020
The bold pinkish purple is set to be trans-seasonal and flattering to any complexions

Emperador 18-1028
A rich, chocolatey brown, this hue has been inspired by HBO's very own Game of Thrones

Chili Oil 18-1440
Earthy, brown-based red, this also serves as transitional colour

Ultra Violet 18-2828
"Is it more blue or more red?" this modern shade of purple will make an impact on any wearer

 Sailor Blue 19-4034
"We're calling this group of 12 genderless, because we see these colours coming to the fore of women's and men's."
