On Wednesday's we wear Millennial Pink

It's pretty evident that the colour pink has been dominating the fashion industry for some time now. Seen at Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Rihanna's FENTY x PUMA, everywhere you look, you can't seem to escape the colour. But it's not all shades of pink that you should be wearing, there is one clear front runner. A muted salmon, dusty rose, faded peach kind of shade known as Millennial Pink has taken both the womenswear and menswear industry by storm. As I write this piece, I'm currently sat in my oversized sweater in yep, you guessed in, Millennial Pink.

After first being introduced back in 2012 as a much more bolder shade, pink wasn't used as much throughout the runways as there has always been negative connontations associated with the colour - it was seen as too childish, girly and wasn't taken seriously. But when Pantone went on to crown 'Rose Quartz' as the Colour of the Year in 2016 and Apple introducing a rose gold iPhone, this was when the colour really took off.

Finally hitting what we thought was its peak in the summer of 2016, the shade seems to be going from strength to strength with no sign of it dying down anytime soon.

As long as you have an item of clothing in the colour pink, you really can't get it wrong.

Drake's Hotline Bling

And it's not just the industry that are going Millennial Pink bonkers. It seems like everyone is embracing the shade.

Wes Anderson's, The Grand Budapest Hotel, has played a pivotal role in the success of this shade - the hotel itself was pink, I mean what more could we wish for?! And music videos from Drake's Hotline Bling and his collaboration with Rihanna on Work, both as well as Anderson's film have a muted pink haze to it.

Interior designers have also caught onto the trend. Make your way down to sketch on Conduit Streeet and you'll be in awe. The thought of an all pink dining room shouldn't work but you'll be presently surprised at how mesmerising one room can be.

Gaining more and more popularity by the day thanks to almost every twentysomething person out there, this shade is showing no signs of slowing down. It's official, Millennial Pink is here it stay and it's not just Wednesday's you can wear pink.
