Riccardo Tisci - the creative director of Givenchy and the man responsible for redefining the brand announced Thursday that he was leaving the brand after 12 years.
Givenchy has become one of the most sucessful brands out there - thanks to Tisci - after taking on the role of creative director back in 2005, where the brand was going through an 'identity crisis' due to a series of quick turnaround creative directors - including John Galliano, Alexander McQueen and Julien Macdonald.
Givenchy Fall 2011 Couture
Tisci and Givenchy has become the go-to amongst his famous friends; from creating tour outfits for Rihanna and custom gowns for every red carpet for Queen B herself, to pretty much dressing the whole Kardashian clan and even creating that wedding dress for Mrs. West.

For Tisci, he
wants to focus on his personal interests and passions, but it's
rumoured to believe that he's heading to Verscace. A close friend to
Donatella Versace, it wouldn't be a surprise if he was to move to the
Italian brand, but surely Donatella wouldn't step down. Not yet anyway.

So what
will this departure mean for the brand? Tisci's signature gothic
elegance and intricate designs which has developed throughout the years is the down to the success of the brand throughout his time. As of yet,
no successor has been announced nor is there any speculation as to who
shall take over.
This is one departure that we are truly sad to see go. We know wherever he ends up next the garments he produces will be just as amazing and perfect.
