#TiedTogether

NYFW officially started earlier this week and if you've been paying close attention, you would have noticed one little thing that keeps appearing at shows - a white bandana.

Featured on pretty much every model at the Tommy Hilfiger x Gigi in show in LA and the invitation for the hotly anticipated debut of Raf Simons at Calvin Klein, the 90's accessories has become an important symbol for fashion month.

#TiedTogether, a campaign started by Business of Fashion is a reaction to the current 'climate of hate' that is taking over the world's politics. By wearing a white bandana, this signifies that not only does the wearer, but also the industry, 'believes in unity and inclusivity for all mankind.'

Other designers set to join in with the visual statement include Diane von Furstenberg, Prabal Gurung, Phillip Lim and Takoon. And it's not just designers - models, photographers, editors; everyone is encouraged to get involved.

BoF editor-in-chief, Imran Amed had this to say on the campaign: "In fashion, visuals often speak louder than words. So join together this Fashion Month to make a simple and singular visual statement."

"Wear a white bandana as a sign to the world that you believe in the common bonds of humankind - regardless of race, sexuality, gender or religion," he added. "In support of humany unity and inclusiveness amidst growing uncertainty and a dangerous political narrative peddling division on both sides of the Atlantic."

Expect to see a whole load of bandana's at all your favourites shows - this is going to be big!
